Norma F. Poole
A true Southern belle, born in Knoxville, Tennessee, Norma was the daughter and granddaughter of the late Pauline Sherron and Mossy Long. She traveled through life with a disarming laugh and embraced the world with both arms, her innumerable bracelets always jangling noisily. An unrepentant smart aleck with a soft spot for children and animals, she never met a stranger she couldn’t charm. Her lipstick was always on, her nails always polished, and her leopard print always worn with conviction.
She spent her years as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a renowned distributor of cookies to her grandchildren, and there was always a box of Whitman’s Samplers at Christmas, always. She made sure you were fed. She enjoyed trips to Portsmouth, NH and North Conway, and she loved her family fiercely.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wendell Alton Poole, and their cherished daughter, Theresa Jane Poole.
She is survived by her sister, Pat Wilson; daughter, Linda Tripodi; sons, Steven Poole and Kenneth Poole; daughter-in-law and best friend, Sharon Lombard; grandchildren, Christine Fernandez, Felicia Poole, Andrew Calabrese, Chelsea Candiano, and Halie Marineau; and great-grandchildren, Destiny, Felipe, Lola, Domenick, Atticus, Isabella, Penelope, Symphony, DJ, Bentley, and Bri.
With the most respect, gratitude, and appreciation to her primary caretakers, Heather and Paige, who gave her so much more than care.
Tremendous and heartfelt thanks go to the truly exceptional staff at Brookhaven Hospice, who provided not only nursing care, but a peaceful and compassionate environment during her transition from this life to the next.
I hope you know how deeply you are loved and how much you are missed.
