Sandra “Sandy” L. Blanchet (Ganley)
Sandra “Sandy” L. Blanchet (Ganley), passed away at home after a lengthy illness on March 16, 2016. She was 75 years old. She was born in Woburn, MA the daughter of George and Phyllis Ganley. She grew up in Burlington, MA and made her home in Nashua, with her husband, Paul Blanchet. Sandy worked for many years as a site coordinator for the Nashua Senior Center where she took great pride in organizing events such as, “Christmas in July” and “Summertime Blues”. She also worked with the “Meals on Wheels” program ensuring that those in need were cared for.
Sandy enjoyed spending time with her family, staying in contact with her Norweigan penpal of 61 years, writing poetry, shopping for the best bargain, trips to Dairy Queen, and passing time playing Scrabble and sharing laughs and stories, with her best friend of 40 years, Laurelann.
Sandy was the loving wife of Paul Blanchet. She was the loving mother of Rebekah Silva, of Somerville, MA and the late Crystal Griffin of Tampa, FL. She was the sister of Ronald Ganley & his wife Louise of Hooksett and the late Gary Ganley & his wife, Doreen, of Lexington, MA. She was the proud grandmother of Alexander Clark, Jack Griffin and Sienna Silva. She leaves behind her loving pet and companion, Taylor.
Relatives and friends are invited to Sandy’s services on SATURDAY, April 4th at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. A gathering time for family and friends will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, followed by a time of remembrance beginning at 2:00 PM, where family and friends are invited to share special memories, words of encouragement, or reflections on Sandy’s life.
