Daniel George Bogonis,

Mar 12, 2026

Daniel George Bogonis, 51, of Amherst, NH, passed away on March 8, 2026, at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, NH. Dan was born in Malden, MA, on December 2, 1974, the oldest son of Fred and Janice Bogonis.

He spent his childhood in Woburn, MA, and graduated from Woburn High School in 1993. During his time there, he was an active member of the jazz band and choir, playing bass guitar. His love of music continued after graduation, and he played in a local band for several years. Dan attended Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology in Boston, where he earned an Associate’s Degree in Technical Science. He worked for many years as an automotive technician before finding his place as the Commercial Service Manager for AutoZone. He dedicated more than 15 years to the company, where he built lasting friendships and a strong community through his work. Dan met his wife, Heather (McNaughton), in December of 1993 on a blind date set up by two different sets of mutual friends. They were married on March 8, 1996, and began their life together in Lowell, MA, before eventually settling in Amherst, NH. There they raised their three amazing sons, to whom Dan passed on not only his love of music but also his passion for all things mechanical. He found great joy mentoring the Souhegan High School Robotics Team and was incredibly proud to watch his two oldest sons graduate from college and his youngest begin his own college journey–all pursuing engineering.

Dan is survived by his loving wife, Heather; his sons Justin Daniel of Lawrence, MA, Samuel Thomas, and George Angus of Amherst, NH; and his mother-in-law, Karen McNaughton of Tewksbury, MA. He also leaves behind many friends and a large community built through his years of work. He will be especially missed by his beloved Great Dane, Ludo. He was predeceased by his mother, Janice Bogonis, and his father-in-law, Robert McNaughton.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your local animal shelter in Dan’s memory. Celebration of Life arrangements to be announced at a later date. Assisting the family with arrangements is the Cremation Society of NH, Nashua. To view Daniel’s Online Tribute, send condolences to the family, or for more information, visit https://csnh.com.
