Dorothy Tsimbidaros Dion
Dorothy Tsimbidaros Dion, 87, of Nashua, NH, passed away on February 24th surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 9, 1938 in Lowell, MA, the daughter of George and Bernice (Fallon) Tsimbidaros, and she lived most of her life in Nashua. “Dot” graduated from Nashua High School and attended Rivier College.
Dot met the love of her life Sylvio in 1953, and they married at St. Louis de Gonzague Church in Nashua on September 5, 1960. They were married for 64 years and together for 71 years.
As her family grew, she enjoyed spending time with her family and close friends including Carleen Trudeau, Mariette Soucy, Janet Smith, Mary King, and Nancy Janiak. She was the proprietor of Booklore and D. Dion & Co. and was a proud business owner. She started her cleaning business from scratch, which enabled her to help support her family. She loved reading and listening to music with Sy, and she cherished Sunday dinners and celebrating birthdays and holidays with her family. She was a kind, compassionate person who always helped others before herself, and she loved her many pets.
Dot was a devout Catholic and was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church and Saint Patrick Church in Nashua for over 50 years. She loved singing and was a cantor and choir member at St. Pat’s for many years.
Dot loved her family and her God. When she passed peacefully, she was surrounded by her 5 children Kathy (Art) Korn, Mary (Randy) Nicewarner, Jim (Don), Julie (Jim) Dillavou, and John. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren Krista, Jake, Ryan, Jamie, Jason, Kaden, Josh, and Abbie; 6 great grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Sy, her parents George and Bernice, and her brother Nick.
There will be a funeral mass at Immaculate Conception Church, 216 East Dunstable Road in Nashua on Monday, March 2nd at 10 a.m. with interment to follow at St. Louis Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Home Health and Hospice of Merrimack, NH for their many years of caretaking for our Mom, especially Nurses Allie, Jane, Kayla; and Nurse Aides Mary, Shannon, and Delilah. Memorial donations in Dot’s memory may be directed to the Nashua Soup Kitchen or NH Food Bank.
