Georgeann M. Geis
Georgeann Marie Geis (née Spano) of Amherst, New Hampshire moved to heaven on February 19, 2026 at 11 PM after a lengthy and hard-fought battle with breast cancer.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Thomas A. Geis; her adopted sons, Frederick Bonilla, Gregory Geis (Chelsea) of Brighton, MA, Christopher Geis of Mooresville, NC, Jonathan Geis of Amherst, NH and her sister, Grace LaPine of Westfield, NJ. She is predeceased by her parents, Anthony and Claire Spano (née Forster), her brother, Anthony Spano and many uncles, aunts, and religious monks and nuns.
Georgeann was raised and educated in Union City and North Bergen, New Jersey, having graduated from Holy Rosary Academy, Union, NJ. She was a member of the Union Hill Turn Verign Gymnastics Club. In 1975, Georgeann was crowned “Miss Schuetzen Park” in North Bergen, NJ and participated in a Canadian competition.
Previously, she had been employed at Mutual of New York in New York City, Boston, MA, and Manchester, NH. More recently, Georgeann worked at Hitchiner Manufacturing, Milford, NH, drove a school bus for the town of Amherst, NH, and delivered mail in Hollis, NH.
She enjoyed singing in the Messiah Sing, held every year in Mont Vernon, NH. Georgeann was a past member of the Souhegan Valley Chorus and was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Parish in Nashua, NH.
Georgeann was a General Class Amateur (HAM) Radio Operator and her callsign was WB1FRE.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 27th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. A Requiem Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Stanislaus Church, 43 Franklin Street, Nashua, NH on Saturday, February 28th at 12:00 pm. All are invited to attend and asked to kindly meet at church. There will be a reception following in the church basement. Interment is postponed until May due to winter conditions.
