Anthony Paul Brousseau

Feb 13, 2026

PORTLAND, OREGON – It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Anthony Paul Brousseau, 79, who left this world peacefully surrounded by close family on January 31, 2026, after years marked by resilience and life with Parkinson’s disease.

Tony was born on June 27, 1946, in Nashua, New Hampshire, the son of the late Henri Albert Brousseau and Norma Rosemarie (Raymond) Brousseau. A lifelong love of sports shaped his childhood. This enthusiasm led him, after high school, to enroll at the Leland Powers School of Radio and Theater in Boston, Massachusetts, with focus on sports broadcasting. As a young adult, he worked as a radio disc jockey for New Hampshire’s WSMN– the voice of its Easy Listening Show “every evening 7:30 to midnight.”

In adulthood, his life centered on family. He was a devoted husband and a proud, loving father who always made time for his children’s sporting events, school plays, and recitals. Tony loved the many summer vacations spent with his family on Cape Cod. He inherited a love for birds and cats from his mother–cats were always a consistent pet through the decades.

In addition, Tony’s biggest passions were music and baseball. His vinyl collection rivaled the best, and there were few days in his adult life when music wasn’t playing at home. Many will remember Tony as the resident DJ–setting the mood, keeping the atmosphere lively, and delighting guests with his knack for reading the room surprising family and friends with great song selections and deep cuts. He was also the quintessential New England sports fan, with a special place in his heart for the Boston Red Sox.

Tony is survived by his wife Virginia (Leggat) Brousseau; his son Beau Brousseau; his daughter Julie (Manning) Studenroth; and grandchildren Leo Brousseau, Jack Brousseau, Andrew Studenroth, and Olivia Studenroth. Tony was known for his kindness and gentle demeanor to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date
