Thomae “Tommie” Herlihy

Thomae “Tommie” Herlihy, 83, a lifelong resident of Nashua, died peacefully on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua surrounded by her loving family. She is the beloved wife of Thomas “TJ” Herlihy with whom she shared 63 years of marriage.

Tommie was born in Nashua, New Hampshire on August 27, 1942, and was the daughter of the late Christos Thomas and Helen (Nikiforakis) Anagostou. She received her education in the Nashua School System and was a graduate of Nashua High School with the class of 1960.

For many years she worked as an administrator starting her career at Nashua Corporation, where she first met her husband TJ, and then working at the former Sanders now currently BAE. Most recently she worked at Firestone in Nashua as a part-time administrative assistant for 28 years, at both the Main Street and then Amherst Street location, where she retired in 2011. Tommie also assisted her husband, TJ, in operating his business, Granite State Paper and Tape for over 55 years.

Tommie found joy and beauty in creating through knitting, quilting, and other crafts that reflected her patience and creativity. She loved a good challenge and delighted in all kinds of puzzles, from jigsaw to crossword, always keeping her mind sharp. With a true green thumb, she lovingly maintained countless plants both inside and outside her home, especially her cherished cacti, orchids, and shrubbery. Tommie found peace and solace at their vacation home on Lake Winnipesaukee, where countless treasured memories were made with those she loved. She also deeply valued time spent with relatives, friends, and meaningful connections formed online. Above all, Tommie will be remembered for her caring and loving nature, and her wonderful sense of humor. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

In addition to her husband, TJ, she is survived by her two sons, Timothy Herlihy of Moultonborough, NH and Jason Herlihy and his wife Kimberly of Belmont, NH; her two beloved grandchildren, Ava and Breann; her sister-in-law, Betty Mccue-Herlihy of Maine; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to Thomae’s visitation on WEDNESDAY, February 4th from 10 until 11 AM at St. Philip Greek Orthodox Church, 500 W Hollis Street, Nashua. Her Funeral Service will be held in the Church at 11 AM. Interment to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Nashua.
