Marlene Mary Madore
Marlene Mary Madore, 81, of Merrimack, NH passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026, after a period of declining health. She was born in Van Buren, Maine on February 15, 1944, to the late Frank T. and Anne Marie (Ruest) Martin. Marlene graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Van Buren, Maine. During those years, she was a majorette, and enjoyed music, basketball, and her family. Later she married Ken Madore, a Van Buren boy. Marlene and Ken went on to have two children, Mark and Tracie.
Marlene was compassionate, nurturing and devoted her life to raising her children. She enjoyed crafting (her children often referred to her as the “original’ Martha Stewart), gardening, and was very active in her church community, coaching, then later running the St. John Neumann CYO cheerleading program. During her “retirement years” she enjoyed working at the local middle school cafeteria and volunteering at the Day Away program for individuals with Alzheimer’s Disease as well as spending time with friends and family.
As time passed, Marlene developed dementia of the Alzheimer’s type. Her children loved, supported, watched, and cared for her, to the end. She will be forever loved and missed by her “peeps”.
Some of Marlene’s MOST treasured times were enjoying her 3PM ice cream socials with her grandchildren.
