Richard “Dick” David Gentile
Richard “Dick” David Gentile, 79, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, in Hudson, New Hampshire.
Born on November 7, 1946, in Bradford, Pennsylvania, Richard was the son of Louis and Theresa Gentile. He graduated from Bradford High School at the age of seventeen and soon after began a remarkable career with General Electric. Entering through the General Electric Apprenticeship program in the fall following his graduation, Richard dedicated an extraordinary sixty-two years to the company–a testament to his unwavering work ethic and commitment.
Richard shared nearly six decades of marriage with his beloved wife Kay Gentile (Gehrlein), with whom he built a loving family and a life full of shared memories. He was survived by his four children: David and his wife Laurie, Steve, Brent and his wife Christine, and Jillene and by his brother Louis Gentile Jr. and his wife Louise. Richard took great pride in his role as a grandfather and great-grandfather, cherishing time spent watching his grandchildren play sports–a favorite pastime that brought him immense joy.
Outside of work and family life, Richard found enjoyment in building model cars and trains. This hobby reflected both his patience and attention to detail–qualities that also defined many aspects of his life.
A man of faith, Richard was a devoted member of St. John XXIII Parish in Hudson, New Hampshire.
He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Theresa Gentile; his brother-in-law Joseph Gehrlein; his nephew Jason Gehrlein; and his grandson Michael St.Onge.
Richard’s legacy lives on through the love he shared with his family and the dedication he brought to every endeavor. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him. A Celebration of Life will be held on January 17, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Londonderry Baptist Church 368 Mammoth Road.
