Dec 19, 2025

Janice Rosalie Trasatti, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on November 27, 2025, at the age of 90. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, on November 16, 1935, the eldest of three sisters. Janice attended Bay Ridge High School, where she was honored as the Class Mathematician, a reflection of her talent and dedication to learning. She later continued her studies at Brooklyn College, where she met the love of her life, Alphonse. They were married on June 13, 1959, and enjoyed a devoted and heartfelt companionship for sixty-six years.

In 1971, Janice and Al moved to Amherst, New Hampshire, where they raised their family for more than forty years. Janice was a dedicated mother and spent many years working in the Amherst school system as a substitute teacher.

The love of Janice’s life was her family. Affectionately known as the Ultimate Nana, she was blessed with four children, Philip, David, Susan, and Michael, fourteen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She took great pride in her family, celebrating everyone’s successes, adventures, and accomplishments, both large and small, and never missed honoring each birthday, anniversary, and special occasion. Proud of her Italian heritage, she took great delight in preparing her famous lasagna for Thanksgiving and her eggplant parmigiana for family celebrations.

Janice was an easy person to love, warm, sociable, and deeply connected to her friends. She had many interests, including reading, playing bridge, and crafting. She was highly skilled in knitting, crocheting, and beading, creating beautiful ornaments for family and friends each holiday season. Her organizational talents shone through her volunteer work with several local groups, including working as a Client Facilitator for the AARP tax program. She was also an active member of the Nashua YMCA, where she enjoyed exercise classes and social events. She was a deeply religious person who honored her Catholic faith with devotion throughout her life.
