Jeannine G. Lavoie, 91, a lifelong resident of Nashua, NH, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center surrounded by her children. Born in Nashua on May 15, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Irene (Chamard) Duval. Jeannine was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gerard Lavoie, who passed away in 2023. Their marriage was a source of great love and companionship throughout their lives.
Jeannine was educated in Nashua and attended St. Louis School. In her younger years, she worked as a waitress at The Rosebud Restaurant and Chasser’s before beginning a career as a cook at Elm Street Middle School and Nashua High School where she was known for her warm smile and dedication to the students she served.
A woman of strong faith, Jeannine was a devoted parishioner of St. Louis Church. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures–camping, knitting, and crocheting–and loved nothing more than spending time with her family. She was an avid cribbage and bingo player and was part of a bowling league with her husband. In her later years, she especially cherished traveling with friends, taking memorable trips to Las Vegas, Arizona, and many other destinations.
Jeannine will be remembered for her generosity, humor, and love she shared with everyone who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the memories held by her family and friends.
Jeannine is survived by her children Michael Lavoie, Andre Lavoie and his wife Cathy, Roger Lavoie and his wife Paula, Dennis Lavoie, Louise McGuire and her husband Dennis, Anne Marie Caron and her husband Darrell and Nicole McMahon and her husband Kevin; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; her brother Raymond Duval and his wife Patricia; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and in laws in the United States and Canada.
In addition to her husband Gerard, Jeannine is predeceased by her siblings Theresa Plante and her husband Charles, Claudette Theriault and her husband Gerald, Jacqueline Plante and her husband Ernest, as well as her niece Monique Marchand.
Family and friends are invited to Jeannine’s visitation on WEDNESDAY December 17th from 4 until 7 PM at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. Her funeral mass will take place on THURSDAY December 18th at 10 AM at St. Louise de Gonzague Church, 47 W. Hollis Street, Nashua. Interment will follow at St. Louis Cemetery.
