Carl David Cox
September 25, 1952 – December 5, 2025
Carl was born and spent most of his life in New Hampshire. He loved his family and friends deeply, and he had a lifelong passion for trains. Carl was known for his good spirits, quick humor, and the way he could brighten any room with a joke. Through this past year, he had health struggles, but he never complained–always telling his doctors and nurses, “Everything is fine, no problems.”
I have many fond memories of hiking together in the White Mountains as teenagers with Carl and my other brothers, exploring trails and sharing endless laughter. Carl worked most of his life as a carpenter and laborer. He would always volunteer whenever I needed help on a house project. He once spent weeks helping me dig a foundation–and of course, he loved every minute he got to spend on the backhoe. His generosity, enthusiasm, and steady presence are things I will always cherish.
Carl was predeceased by his brothers Jody and Mitchell Cox, and by his parents, Herschel and Lorraine Cox.
He is survived by his brothers Roark Cox and James Cox, as well as his nieces and nephews Seth Cox and Sidey Lopez, Allison Skidmore, Billee Cox, Benjamin Cox, and William Cox, along with many grand-nieces and a grand-nephew who will carry his memory forward.
Carl will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who loved him.
In another life, he surely would have worked on the railroads, and we have no doubt that somewhere now he is sitting in the cab of a locomotive, blowing the whistle with joy.
No service at this time there will be a family burial in the spring.
