Gail Dwyer English

Dec 1, 2025

Gail Dwyer English, born January 18, 1943, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025. Born to Doris and Francis Dwyer, Gail grew up on Shamrock Street in Pepperell, MA, where she was happiest surrounded by family and the simple joys of hometown life. A gifted floral artist, Gail spent more than 35 years at Cataldo’s Nursery, where her arrangements became known for their elegance, charm, and the unmistakable “Gail touch.” Her creativity didn’t stop at flowers. She had a natural talent for interior design, transforming rooms into warm, welcoming spaces that felt as though they belonged on the pages of Better Homes & Gardens. With her intuitive eye for color, texture, and balance, she made every space feel both beautiful and deeply lived-in. Gail enjoyed many things–tennis (and she could share the stats of just about any player), the Ocean, and a good plate of fried clams. But nothing brought her more joy than her family. They were the heart of her world.

She is survived by her devoted son Gary and his wife of over 40 years, Kim, as well as her sister, Mary Fernandez. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Jack Dwyer along with her Great Grand-daughter Leighton Taylor English Gail was an extraordinary grandmother to Jake (wife Faye) of Hanover MA, Corey (Justina) of Ipswhich, MA and Keith (wife Courtney) of Merrimack, NH, and she absolutely adored her great-grandchildren: Maeve, Alden, Violet, JT, Grayson, and Nora–with Corey and Justina’s newest little one arriving in January.

Gail had a great sense of humor that often surfaced in perfectly timed comments that made everyone around her laugh. One family favorite–and a phrase that will bring a smile for years to come–was her enthusiastic request for “pimp shrufs” (Shrimp Puffs) whenever Chinese food was involved. Gail’s laughter, creativity, and love filled the lives of those around her. She will be forever cherished, and her memory will continue to warm the hearts of all who knew her.

Assisting with arrangements is the Cremation Society of New Hampshire. To view Gail’s online tribute, send condolences to his family, or for more information, visit https://csnh.com
