Mark Ankarberg
Mark Ankarberg, aged 81, passed away on October 28, 2025 in Dover, NH. Born on March 24, 1944, Mark lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and a profound dedication to education and community service.
Mark pursued his higher education at Central Michigan University before embarking on a notable career in teaching English as a Foreign Language. His journey as an educator began in the Peace Corps in Jalalabad, Afghanistan, continued in Meshed, Iran, and Japan, and culminated with over 25 years of teaching ESL in Nashua, NH. His commitment to education enriched the lives of countless students across the globe. He furthered his education by obtaining a Master’s degree at Rivier University. He met and maried Denise Lemay of Manchester, NH in Meshed. They liked to tell the story that they married in an Armenian church, officiated by an Irish Catholic priest and witnessed by an Iranian government official!
Beyond his professional life, Mark was a deeply involved member and deacon at the New Castle, NH Congregational Church. His faith and dedication to his community were evident in his service and participation in church activities.
Mark’s personal interests were as broad as his impact on the world. He enjoyed attending concerts, plays, visiting museums, and art galleries. His love for traveling to foreign countries and experiencing different cultures was paralleled by his passion for cooking ethnic foods. Mark also found peace and relaxation at the beach. Face to the sun – toes in the sand. A committed volunteer, he dedicated time to various non-profit organizations, further demonstrating his generous spirit.
He is survived by Denise, his son Aidan, his daughter-in-law Kaitlin, and his sister Mary Kay Weipert, her children and their children. Mark’s legacy of love, education, and community service continues to inspire all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the NH SPCA in Stratham, NH, reflecting his love for animals and commitment to charitable causes. Mark Ankarberg’s life was a beacon of warmth and generosity, and he will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and the many lives he touched.
