Barbara (Carter) Savoia

Barbara (Carter) Savoia, 93, of Nashua, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Quincy, Massachusetts on April 14, 1932, to Arthur Carter and Helen (Papkey) Carter, Barbara spent her life as a devoted mother and wife. She was married to her husband, Benjamin Savoia, for 66 years prior to his passing in 2020. She attended Quincy High School, Class of 1950. As a devoted military spouse, she lived her life in various locations due to Ben’s dedicated service in the United States Navy. She was a beloved resident of Nashua, New Hampshire for over 50 years and, more recently, the Hunt Community as of November 2013.
Barbara will be remembered for her love for her family. Among her hobbies, she enjoyed baking and knitting. Her grandchildren experienced many birthdays where she baked delicious homemade cakes, and everyone looked forward to her holiday cookies every year. Her knitting skills led to many blankets, hats, and scarves, all crafted with love. Barbara and Ben were faithful long-time members of the Parish of the Resurrection Church in Nashua. Barbara often volunteered alongside Ben at various church events.
Barbara is survived by her children, Debra and her husband Normand Lavigne of Manchester; David Savoia and his wife Margaret (Stirk) of Nashua; her son-in-law Cort Hansen of North Conway; her cherished grandchildren, Kimberly and Kristy Lavigne; Audrey Hansen; Joseph Savoia and his wife Ilana (Wasserman); Nicholas Savoia and his wife and Kristjana Bacaj; Matthew Savoia; and her great-grandson Bennett Savoia. She is predeceased by her husband, Benjamin Savoia and her daughter, Cynthia Hansen.
The family would like to thank the dedicated Hunt Community Staff for the exceptional care, kindness, and compassion shown to Barbara during her time there.
