Carol Ann (Gifford) Peabody

Carol Ann (Gifford) Peabody, 87, of Nashua, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, surrounded by love and care.

Born on June 26, 1938, in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late Weston and Beatrice Gifford. Carol married the love of her life, Robert Peabody, in August 1959, and together they shared many wonderful years before his passing in September 2015. She attended Mount Auburn Nursing School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and went on to work as a nurse at Acton Medical Center and Emerson Hospital. She loved her work and the connections she made. A devoted member of the West Acton Baptist Church for over 30 years, Carol and her husband served as deacons, sang in the choir, and led the youth group, sharing their faith and compassion with others. Later in her career, Carol worked for the Federal Aviation Administration, where she trained managers and continued to make a difference through her dedication and care. She loved gardening and spent many happy hours tending to her flowers and plants. Most of all, she treasured time spent with family and friends. Besides her loving husband, she is predeceased by her granddaughter, Megan Peabody, and brother Weston (Sonny) Gifford.

Carol is survived by her sons, David and his wife Pamela Peabody, Brett Peabody and his wife Karen Nault, and Seth Peabody; grandson Joshua Peabody; great-granddaughters Savanah and Arabella Peabody; sister Priscilla Langford, and Barbara LeFrancois; brother Daniel Gifford; and half-siblings, Robert, Jennifer and Cynthia Mowry. SERVICES: A Church service will be held at the West Acton Baptist Church, 592 Massachusetts Ave, Acton, MA 01720, on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 11:30 am. Friends and family are invited to attend.
