Emilia Karen Durant

Oct 16, 2025

Emilia Karen Durant, 95, died peacefully at her home on Oct. 12, 2025.

Born in Drummond, New Brunswick, Canada on April 15, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Edith (Morin) Pelletier and grew up in Grand Falls.

She was the wife of the late Edward F. Durant, whom she met while he was stationed at Limestone, Maine, with the U.S. Air Force. They shared 63 years of marriage prior to his passing in February of 2019.

After marrying and moving to the United States, she became a proud American citizen. She continued her education at Hesser College, working hard in her non-native language to graduate with a bachelor’s degree while raising four children.

Emilia was devoted to her family. She doted on her grandkids and her great-grandchildren, and she always relished the chance to beat her four kids at cards.

Emilia is survived by her four children, Mark Durant and his wife Debbie of The Villages, Fla., Karen Lynch and her husband Tom of Nashua, Darrell Durant and his wife Kathryne of Waterbury, Conn., and Richard Durant and his wife Karen of Derry.

She leaves nine grandchildren: Lisa Durant and her husband Rob Rondini, Michael Lynch and his wife Laura, Deborah Jay Currie and her husband Sandy, Katie Durant and her husband George Andrews, Drew Durant and his wife Christine, William Durant, Michael Durant and his wife Christina, Joseph Durant and his wife Paige, and John Durant.

She is also survived by her two great-grandchildren, Alexander Currie and Heidi Andrews; Canadian siblings Cecile Pelletier and Claude Pelletier of New Brunswick and Rita Durepos and Patricia Martin of Ontario; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her first grandchild, Jennifer Durant, as well as twelve siblings.

A devout Catholic, she was a member of the Parish of the Resurrection in Nashua for many years. More recently, she was a communicant of St. Joseph the Worker Parish.

SERVICES: A visitation will take place on Monday, Oct. 20, from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 777 West Hollis St., Nashua, with a Mass of Christian burial to follow immediately at 11. Interment will follow in St. Louis Cemetery, Nashua.

Memorial donations may be made to the Parish of the Resurrection, 449 Broad St., Nashua NH 03063. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.ANCTIL-ROCHETTE.com.
