Raymond Anthony Guarino

Raymond Anthony Guarino, 71, of Nashua, NH, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 29, 2025, at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center. The family is shocked and deeply saddened by this sudden tragedy.
He was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on May 24, 1954, son of the late Gerald Guarino and Stefana (Bono} Guarino. Raymond was the loving husband of Tina (Varano} Guarino for 28 years. They were married in Sacred Heart Parish in Lexington, MA on August 23rd,1997.
Raymond attended Medford High School. He earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Urban Studies in 1977 at Boston State College, and continued to earn his Master’s Degree in City Planning at UMass Boston in 1983. He began his working career in 2005 as a Principal Transportation Planner at Old Colony Planning Council in Brockton, MA.
In his free time, Raymond enjoyed upkeeping his large garden outside, fermenting homemade wine from grapes picked from his grape vines, and making homemade raspberry jam from fresh raspberries picked in the backyard. He had many hobbies, including reading and cooking all different kinds of fresh food for his family from cinnamon rolls to fresh gnocchi to wood fired pizza with homemade tomato sauce. He especially loved learning karate and tai chi at Tokyo Joe’s Studio of Self Defense, ballroom dancing at Arthur Murray Dance Studios, and the yearly New England vacations with his family.
Raymond was heavily involved in his local and work community, and frequented his favorite coffee shops, Jajabelle’s and Elvera’s Cafe, where he connected with the community, sharing information, ideas, and perspective to build a cooperative atmosphere.
He was a member of The Madonna Del Soccorso Fisherman’s Feast, The Sons of Italy, The Knights of Columbus, The Board of Education, and loved to make a difference through volunteering at different organizations, including the Brockton Area Multi Services Inc.
Brown Bag program. He was incredibly passionate about history and politics, and changing the world for the better through knowledge, education, and accessibility for all. He always fought for less fortunate communities and minorities and worked toward gradual changes for equality and a better future.
Raymond is survived by his beloved wife, Tina (Varano} Guarino of Nashua; his children, Chris Guarino and Amelia Guarino; And his four siblings, Vincent Guarino and his former wife Sue, Maria (Guarino} Hudson and her husband Ray, Gerald (Jerry} Guarino Jr. and his wife Denise, and Stephanie (Guarino} Hewitt and her husband Patrick. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and dear friends and colleagues.

In lieu of flowers, the family is looking into setting up fundraising opportunities in Ray’s memory, further details regarding these will be posted on Facebook as plans become finalized.
SERVICES-Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, 1 Lock St., Nashua, NH 03064. A funeral service will be held the following morning, Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Davis Funeral Home. Buri al and committal prayers will follow at St. Louis Cemetery, 752 W. Hollis St., Nashua, NH. Family and friends are invited to attend.
Parking- Guests are welcome to park in the First Church parking lot off of Lock Street. Additional street parking is available on both Lock Street and Lowell Street.
