John M.A Nevin

John M.A Nevin, 70, of Wilton Center, NH, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. He was born in Bayshore, NY on May 24, 1955, to parents Ronald J. and Florence C. (Mackenzie) Nevin. John was a huge history buff, an avid reader, loved being outside in nature, whether it was in the form of hiking, skiing, or being on the water. Kayaking with friends or sailing with his best friend were dear to his heart. He became enthusiastic about Archeology in recent years and volunteered on several digs. John enjoyed traveling and spent time with family numerous times on the Island of Kauai, HI, and in Outer Banks, NC. He recently went on a bucket list trip to England and Scotland with his sister Patty and it was a highlight for them both. They were in the midst of planning their next adventure. He enjoyed music, dancing and live bands. Gordon Lightfoot was one of his favorites. John was a member of the Wilton American Legion Burke Bent Post #10.
He is survived by his beloved sister Patricia “Patty” A. (Nevin) Ellis and her husband William R. Ellis Sr. of Temple, NH; his nieces and nephew, Ashley E. Tino and her husband Guy of New Boston, NH, Jennifer E. Barry and her husband Kevin of Amherst, MA, Patrick J. Ellis of Temple, NH; his great nieces and nephew, Mackenzie Tino, Clare Tino, David Barry, Laura Barry, Emily Barry; several extended family members, his longtime best friend Bill Keefe and his wife Caroline of Wilton, NH, as well as many friends.
Family and friends are warmly welcomed to attend a funeral service at the Michaud Funeral Home, 32 Maple St. Wilton, NH on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 11:30 am. A luncheon will follow immediately after, at the funeral home. A burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery on Abbot Hill Rd in Wilton, NH at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in John’s memory to the American Heart Association and Share Food Pantry.
