Edward Arthur Raby

Edward Arthur Raby, fondly known as “Bucky”, 94, of Epsom, NH, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025, at Harris Hills Nursing Home in Concord, NH, after a brief illness. Edward was born October 18, 1930, in Nashua, NH, to the late Claude E. Raby and Mary Jane (Salvail) Raby.
A devout Catholic, Edward lived a life of faith, service, and loving commitment to his family. He attended Nashua High School where he was president for the senior class of 1948, then served his country as a staff sergeant in the United States Air Force, including active duty in Korea. Following his military service, he attended St. Anselm College and then worked in finance and accounting for Venture Print, Capital Cash Register, and Dave Connors & Associates until his retirement.
Edward was a loyal New England sports fan, especially of the Boston Red Sox. He loved the game of baseball and had a fantastic sense of humor. He also cherished traveling, especially cruises and adventures with his wife Nita.
He was predeceased by his first wife Ada M. (St. Peter) Raby, his second wife Nita J. (Robinson) Raby, his beloved son, John E. Raby, Sr., and his siblings Claude A. Raby and Patricia Bissonnette.
Edward is survived by his children James Raby and his husband Billy McGowan of Worcester, MA, and Joni Raby-Bowne and her husband Randy Bowne of Salisbury, NH; his daughter-in-law Penny Raby of Tilton, NH; grandchildren John Raby Jr. and his wife Shelby of Concord, NH, Christine Migdal and her husband Preston of Tilton, NH, and Ashley Bowne of Salisbury, NH; and great-granddaughters Tenley and Flora. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.
Family and friends are invited to gather Thursday, August 28, 10:00am to 11:00am at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 172 King Street in Boscawen, NH, Memorial service will begin at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel followed by graveside services with military honors at 12:00pm at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway in Boscawen.
