Carol Catherine (Abood) Putnam, 87, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, joy, and creativity on Friday, August 15, 2025 at Fairview Nursing Facility in Hudson surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald D. Putnam with whom she shared 55 years of marriage prior to his passing on October 17, 2018.

Carol was born in Nashua, New Hampshire on December 13, 1937 and was the daughter of the late Albert E. and Yvonne D. (Marois) Abood. She received her education in Nashua, attending and graduating from Nashua High School with the class of 1955. She then continued her education and graduated from Nashua Business College.

In her younger years she was proud of her position with the Nashua Police Department as a meter maid. After 25 years of employment, Carol retired from her position as a secretary and bookkeeper for the Director of Food Services with the Hudson School District.

Carol had a passion for travel, celebrating her 50th wedding anniversary with a memorable trip to Hawaii but also traveling to the Caribbean, Mexico, other destinations. Carol’s talent for crafting and ceramics brought joy to many, as she lovingly created Christmas trees, ducks, and countless trinkets that will be treasured for years to come. A dedicated reader and an incredibly organized individual, she also played a key role in organizing neighborhood card game nights, as well as hosting her much-loved annual 4th of July cookouts and New Year’s Eve parties. Carol was a dedicated and faithful parishioner to St. Casimir Church as well as St. Patrick Church in Nashua. Above all, Carol cherished the moments spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose love she held most dear. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

She is survived by her three children, Pamela Bliss and her companion Ted Buckley of Nashua, Cynthia Coughlin and her husband Patrick of Nashua, and Thomas Jon “TJ” Putnam; her four grandchildren, Kate (Bliss) Croft and her husband Michael of Westford, MA, Meagan (Coughlin) Adamson and her husband William of Nashua, Molly (Coughlin) Valley and her husband Joshua of Nashua, and Tyler Putnam; as well as her 4.5 great-grandchildren, Paige Croft, Grace Croft, Jameson Valley, Emma Valley, and one on the way due in November, Baby Girl Adamson.

In addition to her husband, Donald and her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Leonard A. Abood and his wife Ina.

The family of Carol would like to extend a warm thank you to the staff at Fairview Senior Living as well as Home, Health, & Hospice for the care and compassion they showed Carol.
