Michael Swabowicz

December 11, 1944 – August 2, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Swabowicz, formerly of Nashua, Alton Bay, and Merrimack, NH. Michael died peacefully on August 2, 2025, at the age of 80.
Born on December 11, 1944, he was the son of the late Peter and Adela (Sedlewicz) Swabowicz. Michael was the beloved husband of the late Patricia (Brown) Swabowicz, with whom he spent 58 wonderful years. Together, they built a life full of love, adventure, and cherished memories. He was the proud father of Michael A. Swabowicz and his wife Wendy of Amherst, NH; Tim Swabowicz and his wife Alison of Hollis, NH; Heidi Bowman and her husband Larry of Merrimack, NH; and Heather Swabowicz-Keller and her fiancée Brian of Hollis, NH. He was also the proud grandfather to Ryan Swabowicz, Joshua Swabowicz, Sara Jentoft, Jenna Swabowicz, Zachary Bowman, Morgan Bowman, Jameson Keller, and Graham Keller. More recently, great-grandchildren Kaelyn, Olivia, Madison, Ava, and Chase were welcomed to the family. He was predeceased by his siblings Peter Swabowicz and Elaine Dionne, and is survived by his sister Nancy Asimakopoulis. Michael is also survived by many nephews and nieces in the Swabowicz, Dionne, Asimakopoulos, Kierstead, Largy, and Breault families, with whom he enjoyed spending time. His memory will live on in his cherished family and friends.
Mike (“Babe”) was born and raised in Nashua, before enlisting in the Army. He served proudly and learned to operate excavation equipment while stationed at West Point. His time in the military laid the foundation for a successful career as an excavation contractor, where he earned a reputation for his work ethic, skill, and determination.
A man who truly lived life to the fullest, Michael was an avid outdoorsman. He spent countless hours enjoying the simple pleasures of hunting, fishing, and being surrounded by nature. In his younger years, he had a passion for motorcycles and could often be seen cruising through town, wind in his hair, living life with the thrill and freedom only a motorcycle could provide. Later in life, his love for adventure shifted to the skies. He often flew between Nashua and Alton Bay in his helicopter, a hobby that allowed him to soar above the landscape he loved, particularly the serene beauty of Alton Bay, where he enjoyed spending time with his family at the lake.
Michael’s life was a testament to his love for his family, his sense of adventure, and his unwavering commitment to hard work. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Michael will be laid to rest at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, alongside his beloved wife, Patricia. Date to follow.
May his soul find peace, and may his memory live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
