Gloria Jean Cox, born on December 21, 1947, in Dublin, GA and passed on August 7, 2025, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH after a short illness.

Gloria was predeceased in death by her mother Burdella Brown and father Adam Smith as well as her brothers, Alton Smith and Richard Brown; and her sisters, Sheila Brown and Willie Bell Brown.

She is survived by her husband Stephen Cox Sr. of Nashua NH; her children, Michael Lemon of Litchfield, NH, David and Vicki Lemon of Hudson, NH, Stephen Cox II of Mesa, AZ, and Nichole and David Baillargeon of Hebron, ME; her sisters: Brenda Hosey, Angelene Brown, Donyell Brown, of Springfield MA, and Vivian Elder of Orchard Park MA; as well as her grandchildren, Olivia Lemon Patenude of Avon, MA, Adam Lemon of Manchester, NH, Areanna Lemon of Hudson, NH, Sarah Baillargeon and Natalie Baillargeon of Hebron, ME, and Carlianda Walsh of Hollis NH. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Arlo and Eli Walsh of Hollis, NH and numerous nieces and nephews in Springfield and Boston, MA.

Gloria was a resident of Nashua, NH for the past 40 years. She was a graduate of Springfield High School in MA. She worked as a Paraprofessional in numerous elementary schools in the Nashua NH school system. She also worked for many years at the Burlington Coat Factory in Nashua NH. Following her retirement from these positions she returned to a life of leisure and travel. She loved to read, walk and just carry a conversation with anyone. She was a religious person.

She had a personality that drew people to her. People left her being uplifted as if they had just met an angel. Which she surely was. She would say “if you can’t say a good word about anyone, keep your mouth shut.” As well as “What you say to people is what they may need to hear. You don’t know what kind of day they are having.”

She will be sorely missed by the family and many friends and acquaintances who all had the opportunity to know her.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on THURSDAY, August 14th from 4 until 7 PM at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. Her cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gloria’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by visiting, https://www.stjude.org/.
