In Loving Memory
Copley R. Bean (Kip), 75, of Litchfield, NH passed away unexpectedly on July 15, 2025.
Kip was born in Portsmouth, NH in January of 1950. He attended high school at the New Hampton
School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona. Not long after graduation,
he left for the west coast in search of a job and fell in love with California, where he remained for many
years. He worked for Spreckels Sugar Company, and later as administrative assistant for the Salinas
Pentecostal Church.
He was very active in what he described as “a useable climate all year-round.” His interests included
sailing his own boat, hang gliding, skiing, building and flying RC model airplanes, motorcycling,
computers, competitive flight simulation, woodworking, gardening, and more.
While in California, he developed a personal relationship with the Lord, which shaped the remainder of his
life. He was devoted to studying the Bible and witnessing to others, to share his love of Jesus and the
message of salvation.
In the mid-90s he returned to his childhood home in Litchfield. By that time, his father’s ongoing illness
with Multiple Sclerosis required skilled care, and he became deeply involved with that care as the years
passed.
He was very resourceful with a strong can-do attitude which expressed itself in many ways. His natural
mechanical abilities were abundant and enabled him to maintain the family home. He was a hardworking
gardener and took pleasure in growing beautiful flowers and setting up bird feeders in the yard for his
mother to enjoy. But his greatest joy in life was sharing the gospel, and helping people to discover and
follow the plan of salvation presented in the book of Acts.
Kip was the son of the late Franklin E. Bean and Beulah (Rundlett) Bean. He is survived by his sisters,
Janet Venne and her husband Charles of Nashua NH, Robin Bean and Donna Tasker of Portland ME, his
nieces Maureen Clark of Cayce SC, Elizabeth Venne of Maysville KY, Jennifer Libby of Cornish ME, and
Heidi Tasker of Danville ME; and his nephews Aaron Bean of Auburn ME, Eric Venne of Hazleton PA, and
Graham Tasker of Portland ME; as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on August 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM at The Sanctuary United Pentecostal
Church, 123 Derry Road, Hudson, NH. Burial will immediately follow at the Hillcrest Cemetery in
Litchfield, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bolivian missions program at The
Sanctuary United Pentecostal Church, at the address above.
