Alan Jeffrey Clapp

Jun 27, 2025

August 7, 1959 – June 24, 2025

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Alan Jeffrey Clapp, who unexpectedly passed away on June 24, 2025, at the age of 65.

Alan was predeceased by his beloved parents, Laurence Clapp and Mary Zaia Clapp, his late wife, Mary Copsom Clapp, and their cherished daughter, Cassandra Lee Clapp. Though he endured profound loss, Alan carried himself with great resilience and determination, holding tightly to the memory of those he loved.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Patricia Smaha Clapp, and their children: Christopher, Matthew, Erin, Patrick, and his wife Regan, as well as their adored grandson, Henry Alan. He took immense pride in his family. His love and guidance will live on in them.

He is also lovingly remembered by his brothers, Robert Clapp and his wife Jeanette Clough, Michael Clapp and his wife Kathleen, and his sister, Kathy Clapp. Alan leaves behind many loved nieces and nephews.

Professionally, Alan dedicated 48 years of his professional life to Heilind Electronics, where he began as a warehouse worker at the age of 15 and rose to serve as Senior Vice President. His decades of service were marked not only by leadership and excellence, but by the deep respect and admiration of all who worked alongside him. He was a mentor to many, a trusted advisor, and a friend to all.

One of Alan’s favorite places to be was the kitchen, where he shared his love through food and laughter. He especially took pride in preparing his Sunday Gravy and carrying on the Clapp family recipes. Alan had a gift for making everyone feel welcome, especially his children’s friends, who always felt cared for through the meals he lovingly prepared. Seeing others enjoy what he made brought him genuine happiness–something that said so much about the way he lived.

Alan’s legacy is one of kindness, humility, devotion, and quiet strength. He will be deeply missed–and lovingly remembered–by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Alan’s memory to The Plus Company, 19 Chestnut St, Nashua, NH 03060 in honor of his generous heart and loving wife.

SERVICES: Visitation will be held on Sunday June 29th, from 2:00PM – 6:00PM at Davis Funeral Home, 1 Lock St., Nashua, NH 03064. A funeral Mass will be on Monday June 30th at 11AM at Parish of the Resurrection, 449 Broad St., Nashua, NH 03063.

A gathering will follow the funeral service at the Clapp family home.
