Edward “Ed” “Eddie” Blakeley

Edward “Ed” “Eddie” Blakeley, 70, of Greenville, NH, passed away on May 30, 2025, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital with his loving and devoted wife close to him, holding his hand. He passed after a long battle with small cell lung cancer as well as head and neck cancer. He was a real trooper with these diseases for over 3 1/2 years. He was born on October 14, 1954, in Nashua, NH to parents, William Blakeley and Mildred (Hebert) Blakeley Laverriere. Ed was educated in the Nashua school system. He went on to be employed with Whitney Screw in Nashua, Fimbel Door in Nashua, and he retired from Souhegan Wood Products in Wilton. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He always had a bountiful garden and shared what he grew with his neighbor and friends. Ed and his wife, Cheryl, met in 1976 and then married in 1995. Although they never had children, they had their “Baby Girl” Betsy, a Brittany Spaniel, for 12 1/2 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his 4 sisters-in-law Linda Southwick, Sharon Gulley, Denise Grant, Pam Grant, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many friends who will miss him always. He was predeceased by his brother William “Bill” Blakeley. Per Ed’s request, there will be no calling hours. Interment will be at a later date at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Hudson, NH. His wife would like to express her gratitude to the Foundation Hematology/Oncology, Cancer treatment center in Nashua for all of the care they gave to Edward. And to Brigham and Women’s Hospital ICU in Boston for their compassionate care given to him, in his last days. The arrangements are in the care of the Michaud Funeral Home, 32 Maple St., Wilton, NH.
