Mary A. Carter

It is with sad hearts and a huge loss that we announce the passing of Mary A. Carter born on April 9, 1931 to Pearl and James Gillogly of Pepperell MA. She passed away peacefully on April 30, 2025 at the beautiful age of 94 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack. She was a long time resident of Milford N.H.

She is survived by six children: Cheryl (Dave) Carlson, Sandy (John) Ward, Debby (Frank) Ward, Carl (Audrey) Carter, Robin Carter & Lisa Carter (Joe Poisson). She is predeceased by a son, Michael. She has 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren,

She was a stay at home mom who single-handedly raised seven children, providing a warm and safe environment, and making each child feel special in their own way. She was an avid gardener, lover of birds, enjoyed walking and even found time to sew and braid rugs. She was a voracious reader, devouring novels in a day. She was well known for her wit and sense of humor.

As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, she loved talking with people about the Bible and honored her faith throughout her life. She never realized the impact she had on the lives of many she came in contact with.

A memorial service will be held on June 6th at 6:30 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Wilton, N.H.
