Joshua Michael Lane

Joshua Michael Lane of Litchfield, NH passed away suddenly on June 1st 2025., As a descendent of the Colby and Naticook Farm legacy, he was a fifth generation resident of Litchfield whose town roots ran deep.

Josh was born on November 5, 1971, at St. Josephs Hospital in Nashua, NH. He attended Griffin Memorial School grades 1-8 where he excelled in youth sports. He was a graduate of Manchester Memorial High School class of 1990, competing on the varsity baseball and ski teams. He studied psychology at Plymouth State College from 1990-1994 where he found his love for rugby and routinely displayed that his speed and power were a great match for size and strength.

Joshua was a naturally talented carpenter. Mentored at a young age by his father, Lee, he honed his craft as a framer and finish carpenter in his 20’s and early 30’s. Josh carved out a name for himself with his speed, precision and ability to problem solve challenging architectural plans. His work succeeds him and his custom, hand raised homes, barns and garages can be found throughout coastal New Hampshire and Maine, as well as within Litchfield and surrounding towns.

Josh was dedicated to his children, both well known athletes within Litchfield, whom clearly benefited from the athleticism and grit of their father. His lifelong love for tournament fishing within the Lakes Region and beyond served as a source of peace and relaxation for him. Josh was an avid golfer and loved snowmobiling and motorcycling.

He had a magnetic personality that attracted countless friends, their families and above all, Roxanne Alley. Roxanne’s love for Josh was embraced by his family, where she was welcomed and participated in many family gatherings these last several years.

Josh is survived by his loving daughter Madison Lily Lane (20), his beloved son Nathan Lee Lane (16) of Litchfield and his stepson Brett Mader (31) of Nashua. He is also survived by his mother and father Pamela and Lee Lane of Litchfield, sister Kristen Gore of Litchfield, niece Brianna Gore of Amesbury, his sister Melissa (Silas) Abraham and nephew Ellis Abraham of Fairfield, CT, and his brother Ryan (Kellie Downs) Lane of Litchfield.

A church service will take place at The Litchfield Presbyterian Church, 259 Charles Bancroft Highway, Litchfield, NH on Friday June 6th 2025 at 11am. Internment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, 152 Hillcrest Road.
