George E. Boucher

George E. Boucher, 92, a lifelong Nashua resident, passed away Monday evening, November 18, 2024 after a brief period of declining health.
Born in Nashua on August 29, 1932, he was the son of the late George J. and Albertine M. (Landry) Boucher. Educated in local schools, George attended Assumption College and earned a Bachelor’s degree in business from Saint Anselm College. An Air Force veteran, Mr. Boucher served during the Korean Conflict as a radar operator from 1952 until his honorable discharge in 1956.
George had an extensive retail clothing career. He was Vice President of Avard’s Clothing Store in Nashua for many years. He was also principal owner of Britches of Concord, Inc. for over 41 years. George always had a keen eye for men’s as well as women’s fashions. He was well regarded in the fashion trade as a quality merchant.
In his leisure time, George enjoyed golf and curling and was a former member of the Nashua Country Club. He was a longtime member of the Nashua Rotary Club.
George was predeceased by his wife, Lucille T. (Avard) Boucher, who passed away November 10, 2017. They were married on November 22, 1958 and shared over 58 years together.
Members of his family include his son, Ray Boucher; his grandchildren, Olivia and Cooper; his nieces. Carol Avard of Ipswich, MA and Joanne Avard of Fort Myers, FL; and his nephew, Richard Avard of Nashua, NH.

A service of remembrance will be held in the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua, Saturday, June 7th at 11 a.m. Family and friends are invited to attend.
