Gerald John Armstrong, 93, passed away after a lengthy illness on April 26, 2025, in Nashua NH.

He was born to John and Edith (Wheeler) Armstrong in Pittsfield MA. Gerald graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1949 and shortly afterward joined the US Navy. He served for 4 years and was honorably discharged in 1955. He married Janice Jensen on October 3, 1953. When Jan passed in 2021, they had been married for 68 years.

Gerry loved to vacation and enjoyed traveling to many distant places with family and friends. He especially enjoyed visiting the beaches at York Beach ME, Hilton Head SC, Hawaii, Bermuda, and Nevis. Gerry worked as a Master Electrician for Stellos Electric in Nashua and retired after a long and successful career. Gerry was active in the Church of the Good Shepherd as a long-time member. He served on the vestry in many roles, acted as the property manager, and helped out with the Acolytes program. He was a member of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew and could always be found volunteering at many of the special events. He taught many confirmation classes and frequently served as an usher. He enjoyed scroll saw woodworking and sold many of his creations at church fairs. He was an avid gardener, claiming he had a green thumb, and gave away bags of tomatoes to everyone. He also served as an assistant troop master for the Boy Scouts Troop 7 and worked on the God and Country program. He volunteered for many years at Southern NH Hospital. He was a lifetime member of the Nashua FlyCasters club and was happiest when he was out fishing, tying flys, or bragging about his latest catch. He enjoyed fishing for many years at the family camp on Chestnut Pond.

Jerry is predeceased by his wife Janice (Jensen). He is survived by his daughter Gail Kulak and husband Mike, daughter-in-law Katrin (Kathy) Armstrong, and predeceased by his son Mark. He is also blessed with a grandson Aaron Lyon and his wife Stephanie, and great-grandchildren Zachary Michaud, Jordan, and Quinn Lyon. He is also predeceased by his half-sister Elizabeth and husband Alfred Pohlman, half-brother Walter and wife Bernice (Anderson), and half-brother Joseph and wife Dora (Wheeler). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins and his beloved cat Georgie.

Known as Uncle Jerry to many, he was the best dad, mom, and friend that anyone could have asked for. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched.

Our family would like to thank the amazing caregivers from Visiting Angels and Home Instead. We are especially grateful for their assistance in helping him to live his final years in the comfort of his home.
