John E. “Jack” Talty of Nashua, NH, formerly of Dracut, MA, tragically passed away in a pedestrian accident on December 17, 2024 while visiting friends in Gloucestershire UK. Born in Lowell, MA, he was the son of the late Vera (Kuklicz) Talty and John H. Talty. Jack grew up in Dracut, where he attended and graduated from Dracut High School. He furthered his education at Fitchburg State College. In addition to photography, Jack had many passions and hobbies. He was an excellent cook and baker, often preparing delicious baked goods for friends and family, particularly his famous chocolate chip cookies. A self-taught quilter, he enjoyed creating beautifully crafted quilts as special gifts. Jack loved music and traveling, and he especially cherished spending summer months at his trailer in Provincetown, which he considered his beloved home away from home.
Jack was a gregarious individual who made many friends along his life’s path. He was known for sending cards to family and friends for birthdays, holidays, and just to say hello, each one filled with love and his signature “smooch, Jack”. His family and friends meant the world to him, and he was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. Jack was thoughtful, kind, funny, a history buff, and incredibly generous.
He is survived and sorely missed by his sister Mary Ellen Wasylak and her husband Chuck of Dracut, he is also mourned by his two nephews and their wives Patrick and Kasha, Greg and Amanda. Additionally, he leaves behind his grandnieces and grandnephews Alexa, Colin, Brody, and Madison. While there will be no immediate services, a celebration of life will be held in the near future.
