Professionally, Bob dedicated 20 years to Data Instruments. He found immense joy in his role as a Cost Accounting Manager, where he administered the 401k and ESOP programs. During a challenging period when Honeywell took over and many employees were let go, Bob was recognized for his invaluable expertise and retained him for an additional two years, a duration Bob humorously remarked he originally thought was going to be only two weeks. His career was marked by a genuine happiness in his duties and a commitment to excellence.

In 1980, Bob established a self-employed tax preparation business, affectionately known as “Bob the Tax Guy.” Over the years, he built a loyal client base of one hundred, despite it being a part-time endeavor.

Beyond his professional life, Bob ventured into rental real estate, managing up to six rental properties. In 2005, he began the subdivision process of his, and his wife, Lee’s property and successfully general contracted a new house with Lee where he resided.

Bob was an avid fisherman, embarking on an impressive 663 fishing trips on the ocean. His passion for the sport led him to set five IGFA world records, one of which remains unbeaten to this day.

In a past year, together with Gerry Moore, Bob played a pivotal role in saving the local Nashua Over 70 Senior softball league from disruption and failure, ensuring its continued success for years to come.

Bob lived his life with a positive attitude and found immense gratification in adhering to the golden rule. Although not a religious person, he firmly believed in the principle and its potential to benefit humanity.

Bob was the beloved husband of Lee Withee, with whom he shared twenty-four wonderful years of marriage. He also leaves his children Christine and her husband Thomas Denio, Donnie Withee and his partner Karen Hoch, Robert and his wife Lauren Withee and his stepchildren Michael, Christina and Natasha Manolagas. He loved being “Grumpy” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also leaving behind his beloved “Bird”.
