Therese A. Monette
Therese A. Monette, 82, died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 with her loving family by her side. She is the beloved wife of Robert L. Monette with whom she shared 53 years of marriage.
Therese was born in Nashua, New Hampshire on May 12, 1942 and was the beloved daughter of the late Albert Richard and Celina (Pelletier) Bourgeois. She received her education at St. Louis de Gonzague Parish Elementary School and was a graduate of St. Louis de Gonzague Parish High School in Nashua.
For 35 years, she worked as a medical transcriptionist in the Radiology Department at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua until her retirement. She cherished her time so much there, following her retirement, she volunteered countless hours helping visitors find their loved ones and delivering flowers within the hospital.
In her free time, Therese enjoyed knitting, puzzles/word searches, and taking frequent leisure walks with her husband, Robert. They also loved to travel together, visiting various destinations across the United States including the missions, the Alamo, and Riverboat Tours in Texas, Napa Valley, the coastline and the Redwood Forests of California, musicals in New York, Baltimore, Maryland, the Amish Country, Gettysburg and Philadelphia in Pennsylvania, and the Shrine of our Lady of Champion in Wisconsin. They also took numerous trips to Montreal and Quebec City in Canada. Every visit was always filled with visiting beautiful churches and shrines along the way; St. Joseph’s Oratory in Montreal being a favorite place of pilgrimage. Therese was a loving, dedicated, and wonderful wife and mother. She was also willing to lend a helping hand, and she will be truly missed by all who had the opportunity to know her.
A woman of deep faith, Therese was a faithful communicant of St. Patrick Parish in Nashua, and in recent years of St. Kathryn Parish in Hudson, where her son serves as pastor.
Therese is survived by her husband, Robert Monette of Nashua and her son, Fr. Michael Monette of Hudson.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her aunts, Yvonne Boucher and Irene Boucher, both of Nashua.
Relatives and friends are invited to Therese’s visitation on MONDAY, September 30th from 4 until 7 PM at St. Kathryn Church, 4 Dracut Road, in Hudson, NH, with vigil prayers at 6:45PM. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on TUESDAY, October 1st at 10 AM at St. Kathryn Church, Hudson. Her committal will follow in St. Louis Cemetery, 572 W. Hollis Street in Nashua.
