Edward A. Snapp

West Townsend – Edward A. Snapp, beloved husband of Janet M. Wesson, passed away on September 19, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Born on December 22, 1942, in Louisville, KY, he was the son of the late Martha Fuchs and Lloyd Snapp. Edward was raised with care and devotion by his stepfather, Ivan Clisby.

A proud veteran, Ed followed in Ivan’s footsteps by joining the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, serving on the USS Newman K. Perry. His dedication to his country was a source of pride for him throughout his life.

In addition to his military service, Edward had a successful career, working for NEC in Boxborough and Gettens Electrical in Fitchburg. Together with his wife, Janet, he owned Treasured Memories, a beloved gift and coffee shop in Townsend where they created lasting friendships and memories in the community and generously provided for the community food banks.

Ed is survived by his loving wife, Janet of Townsend, his son Patrick of Vermont, and his dear sister, Nancy Hughes of Florida.

He is predeceased by his son, Christopher Snapp, his sister Wanda Lowther-Clisby, and his brother Stephen Clisby.

A heartfelt thank you to all who shared Edward’s life. His warmth, kindness, and sense of humor will be deeply missed.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 28 at 10AM in St. Boniface Church, 817 Massachusetts Ave., Lunenburg. Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 27, from 4 to 7 PM in the T.J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 250 Main St., Townsend.
