Carol West
Carol West, 82, passed away peacefully after a period of declining health at Lahey Clinic Hospital in Burlington, Massachusetts, on Friday, September 20, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late John “Jack” F. West, with whom she shared 55 years of marriage before his passing on May 14, 2022.
Born in Malden, Massachusetts, on June 17, 1942, Carol was the cherished daughter of the late John and Eva Miller. She was educated in the Malden School System and graduated from Malden Senior High School.
In her younger years, Carol enjoyed a vibrant life, especially as a decorated league bowler, competing for over a decade and setting impressive personal records. She also shared a special bond with her mother, creating beautiful ceramics together as a favorite hobby. Outside of being a dedicated homemaker, Carol found fulfillment as a volunteer, particularly her time spent serving in the maternity ward at St. Joseph Hospital during the mid to late 1980s.
Carol’s devotion to her family was unwavering. She was a constant presence in her sons’ lives, never hesitating to travel countless miles across the Northeast to support their athletic endeavors. From their early competitive years through their time as college athletes, Carol was always there, cheering proudly from the sidelines.
Carol found great joy in taking long, scenic drives, especially to Gloucester, Rockport, and the White Mountains, savoring New England’s breathtaking fall landscapes. She cherished every moment spent with her family, but nothing brought her more joy than being “Nana” to her six beloved grandchildren, a role she treasured above all else. Carol poured her heart into every moment with them. In addition to her love for family, she was a passionate New England sports fan and adored her dogs. Her warmth, love, and support will be forever treasured by her family and deeply missed by all who knew her.
Carol is survived by her three children: John West, Jr. and his wife Laura, Jeffrey West and his wife Cathy, and Michael West; her grandchildren: Emily West, Brenden West, Colby West, Jacob West, Kahleigh West, and Hayden West. In addition to her husband, Jack, and her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Paul Miller.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Carol’s visitation on Friday, September 27th, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Rochette Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. A prayer service will be held at the conclusion of the visitation. Her interment will take place privately, at the convenience of her family.
