Suzanne Shattuck
Suzanne Shattuck, 97, of Nashua, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. She was born in Buffalo, NY, on November 15, 1926, the daughter of the late James M. Whitney and Helen F. (Bradley) Whitney. Suzanne was the beloved wife of the late Leon Richard Shattuck, to whom she was married on January 1, 1945.
Suzanne graduated from Nashua High School. She was an active and devoted member of both the Pepperell Community Church, where she sang in the choir, and later the First Congregational Church of Nashua, where she continued her lifelong support and participation.
A lover of music, Suzanne had a deep appreciation for classical and symphonic works. She was an active participant in the Nashua Symphony and performed with the Nashua Choral Society, traveling for performances across Europe. In her later years, Suzanne became an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and enjoyed cheering on the New England Patriots.
In addition to her parents and husband, Suzanne was predeceased by her son, David Allen Shattuck; her grandson, Whitney Shattuck; her brother, Allen Whitney, and his wife, Margaret.
She is survived by her son, Denny Shattuck and his wife Charlotte, and daughter-in-law, Gail Shattuck. Suzanne also leaves behind four grandchildren: Heather MacCoy and her husband, Bentley; Hilary Wright; Jacob Shattuck; and Lucy Shattuck. She was a proud great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren: James Wright, Gwenyth MacCoy, Alex Wright, Samantha MacCoy, and Amelia MacCoy. Additionally, she leaves behind her brother Bradley Whitney and his wife, Patsy and numerous nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the First Congregational Church of Nashua, 1 Concord St., Nashua, NH 03064. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend. Interment will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Suzanne’s name may be made to the First Congregational Church of Nashua.
