Donald F. Bossie
NASHUA – Donald F. Bossie (Bosse) – “Don” passed away on Friday July 19, 2024, at his residence in Denison TX at the age of 80.
Don was born in 1944. He spent most of his life living and working in Nashua as well as the surrounding towns of Litchfield and Londonderry.
He attended Nashua Schools and joined the Navy in 1961 where he proudly served on the aircraft carrier USS Lake Champlain, an Essex Class attack carrier. She was the prime recovery ship for the first manned space flight of Allen B Sheppard. It was the US Navy that misspelled Dons last name, he ultimately just accepted it and used it for the remainder of his life.
Don’s civilian career included working for the Nashua Gas Company where he worked for more than 30 years before retiring and moving to Texas. Don was extremely handy and enjoyed spending his free time and retirement days working around the house, remodeling and flipping properties. He was also an avid motorcyclist and loved being outdoors. He and his family attended St Katherine’s Church in Hudson, NH for many years.
Don was predeceased by his parents, Roland and Norma Bosse, his brother Roland Bosse Jr, his sister Dian Gabriel and his wife Judith Spencer.
Don is survived by his son Jonathan Bossie, daughter-in-law Michele, his daughter Nicole Bossie, two grandsons Ryan (wife Alyssa) and Taylor (wife Jessica) Bossie and his two great grandchildren, Leila and James Bossie.
Family members include his sisters Jacqueline, Priscilla and Elaine, his brother Michael and several nieces and nephews.
Stepchildren Tom and Shawn MacDonald, Cassandra Merchant, Courtney Spencer and Amy Rebidue.
SERVICES: There will be a service held on Wednesday October 2nd, 2024 at 11:00AM the NH Veterans Cemetery located at 110 Daniel Webster Hwy Boscowan NH.
