Pauline R. Madigan
Pauline R. Madigan peacefully passed after a brief illness on August 16, 2024, with family by her side at the young age of 92. She was the daughter of the late Alfred and Lena Bois and predeceased by her husband John Madigan whom she was married to for 72 years. She is also predeceased by her brother, Rene Bois, sisters, Gertrude Michaud, Lucille Levesque, Irene Boucher and Doris St. Pierre.
Pauline was born on September 4, 1931, in Nashua, NH. Pauline often spoke of her younger years when she would babysit and save her money to go shopping in downtown Nashua. Pauline met John through mutual friends, and they married at the Laton Hotel on Thanksgiving Day in 1950. They settled and started a family in Nashua where they would reside their entire lives.
Many remember Pauline standing behind the counter of Martha’s Sweet Shoppe serving the Nashua regulars. Her most cherished job was being a homemaker. She took much pride in caring for her family and their home. She always made sure visitors were fed and her house be in pristine condition. She looked forward to her weekly card games with the neighborhood ladies as recently as two weeks ago along with Sunday visits to her sister “Flo’s” house.
When at home, you would almost always find her doing her word searches on the porch, but only after hanging her laundry outside, polishing her windows and ensuring everything was in its proper place. She loved sharing stories of the younger years and was known to be the shortest, yet the most determined and strong soul of the family. She was the quintessential mother and Grammy.
She will be beyond missed by her children, Sandra Madigan, Kevin (Jen) Madigan, Maureen (Mike) Ordway and grandchildren, Holly (Keith) Hill, Kelly (Peter) Ducharme, Jason and Timothy Madigan along with Sam, Lauren, and Michele Ordway. She also leaves her five great grandchildren, Abigail and Nathan Hill, Ryan, Molly, and Laura Ducharme, her sister Florence Collins, brother-in-law Ed Madigan and sister-in-laws Sandra Madigan and Eileen Stewart as well as many nieces and nephews.
