William “Bill” J. Gentle Sr.

William “Bill” J. Gentle Sr., of Nashua, NH passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 88.

Born on May 18, 1936, in Lowell, MA, Bill was the son of the late George W. Gentle and Dorothy P. (MacShane) Gentle. He was also the widower of Theresa C. (Hood) Gentle who passed away on August 8, 2018, with whom he was married on October 11, 1986. He had been previously married to the late Jeraldine Rose (Fenton) Gentle of Roselle, NJ, who passed away on October 19, 2008.

Prior to retirement, Bill was employed as a supervisor at Revlon. Bill was a Veteran who served in the United States Coast Guard.

He was extremely active up until his seventies and enjoyed such activities as bowling, pool and watching horse racing.

He enjoyed traveling and taking bus tours with his most memorable tours being to Canada, Washington D.C., and Nashville.

Bill was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lowell, MA.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, William Gentle Jr. of Nashua, NH; Thomas Gentle and his wife Kristina, of Columbia, MD; one daughter, Nancy Lynne Haley of Winter Park, FL, and five grandchildren. Bill was predeceased by his brother, Raymond G. Gentle Sr. of Norristown, PA, and his sister, Helen L. Gentle of Lowell, MA.
