Stacey (Roberts) Lopes

Stacey (Roberts) Lopes of Nashua passed away on June 22, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of forty-eight. Stacey was a loving wife of Jay Lopes, Jr., devoted stepmother to Jake and Brian, dear sister, aunt, and cherished friend to so many. She would light up any room with her glowing presence, warmth, beauty, and love wherever she went. As a wife and stepmother, Stacey was extremely proud, whether cheering from the stands at Jake’s hockey game or encouraging Brian in his new endeavors. When choosing a partner in life, one looks for many qualities, but loyalty, friendship, empathy, and humor are just a few. Stacey and Jay were lucky to share all these qualities. They were a team, learning from one another. Whether they were navigating how to raise the boys or working together on DIY projects at their vacation home in Lake George, they always figured it out together. “In sickness and in health” is a common vow in marriage, and Jay stood strong and supportive as her health advocate throughout her illness. Knowing he stood as her protector when she needed him most surely brought her a sense of peace and happiness.
Stacey was born with an innate ability to connect with people. Whether you had known her for years or had just met, she had a magical way of making you feel seen and heard. She was a wonderful listener and had a genuine interest in the lives of others. This rare gift made her a cherished companion and confidante to countless individuals.
Her love for learning and experiencing new things was boundless. Stacey valued education and sought out knowledge in every facet of her life. Her curiosity and drive for connection and for personal growth brought her to share her voice with others as part of the Souhegan Valley Chorus in NH. Stacey’s warm and caring nature extended to animals, especially her beloved adopted fur baby, Phoebe. She adored her beautiful kitty, and Phoebe is just as cute and quirky as our beautiful Stacey.
Stacey was a true friend, the kind who would drop everything to be by your side. She was an incredible listener and knew just what to say to make you smile, and her presence made every gathering more enjoyable. Stacey’s legacy is one of love and kindness. She leaves behind a trail of beautiful memories and a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Stacey had a love for funky style and a playful, silly side to her personality. Whether she was coloring her hair a vibrant shade of red or rocking a glittery pair of earrings, she loved to stand out and be bold, embracing her unique self. Her bold fashion choices were a true reflection of her vibrant personality and her fearless approach to life.
One of Stacey’s many remarkable qualities was her ability to remember the smallest details and share long forgotten moments and memories of fun times with friends and family. She could recall every inside joke, every shared experience, and every moment of joy with astounding clarity. This was another testament to how much she valued life and her experiences with loved ones, always cherishing and preserving the special moments she shared with the people she cared about.
Let us honor her by cherishing the moments we shared with her, by continuing to seek out new experiences, and by striving to make others feel seen and heard, just as she did. Stacey, your memory will forever be a part of us, and you will always be deeply missed.
