Rachel G. Cross
Rachel G. Cross, 80, of Merrimack, died January 26, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family after a brave and lengthy battle against Alzheimer’s Disease.
Rachel was born in Nashua NH on March 3, 1943, to Joseph and Marcel Martin and lived most of her life in Merrimack NH with her loving husband of 45 years Peter R Cross until his death in 2009.
Besides Rachels family, which was most important to her, Rachel genuinely loved her job at Macom and XMA where she worked as a lab technician for over 34 years, her work ethic, integrity and loyalty was respected by all that knew her earning her employee of the month and year on numerous occasions throughout her successful career.
Rachel was most happy at home, she radiated positivity and always made everyone around her instantly feel comfortable and loved. Despite life’s challenges Rachel’s unwavering faith remained constant, she could always find joy in the simplest of things.
Rachel loved a good party and loved to laugh. They say dance like nobody is watching and that’s exactly what she did in her living room up until a few months before she passed away. We have no doubt that Rachel is dancing again as an Angel in Heaven. Rachel’s pride and joy were always her grand babies, she was so proud of all of them and now she is their own Angel watching over them. Live like Grandma did, with love in your hearts and to quote her favorite saying “Ask, Believe, Receive!!”.
Rachel is pre-deceased by her loving husband of 45 years, Peter Cross. Rachel is survived by her two loving daughters and their families. Pamela Cohen, her husband Jeff, grandsons Joseph and Matthew and his fiancé Krystelle Keefe and great granddaughter Arielle of Hooksett and Rachel’s daughter Deborah Jordan, her husband Peter, granddaughters Makayla (Marchand) Paulson and her husband Avery and great granddaughter Salem and granddaughter Hanna, grandson Nicholas all of Merrimack NH.
Rachel is also survived by her four brothers and sisters, Donald Martin of Dunbarton NH, Cecile Dion, her husband Wil of Manchester NH, Roland Martin, his wife Celeste of Londonderry NH and Lucille Harwood, her husband Tom of North Carolina and many loving nieces and nephews.
Services: A celebration of life will be planned for later this summer. At that time, a private internment where Rachel will be laid to rest with her husband Peter will be planned.
Rachel’ favorite charity was St. Jude’s Children’s hospital. Rachel and Peter were great supporters of St. Jude’s throughout their lifetime and always believed children were life’s priority.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s in honor of Rachel.
