Margaret (Swan) Lewis “Peggy”

Margaret (Swan) Lewis “Peggy”, 78, of Nashua, New Hampshire, died peacefully on Sunday, June 16, 2024, in Haverhill, Massachusetts. She was the beloved wife of the late Jack P Lewis Jr with whom she shared 28 years of marriage prior to his passing on July 22, 1997.

Peggy was born September 13, 1945, to the late Theodore and Frances Swan, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She attended Allegheny College where she met her late husband, Jack Lewis Jr.

After living in Ohio, New Jersey, Florida, and Alaska as part of the Air Force lifestyle, they moved to New Hampshire, where they settled down to raise their children. Peggy’s 16-year career, as an Avon District Sales Manager, introduced her to lifelong friends that shared in her retirement adventures.

Peggy met her life partner, John Carberry May 6th, 2000, and although they never married, were considered inseparable.

In her free time, Peggy kept busy with exercise classes, traveling throughout NH & MI to watch her grandchildren play soccer, and most of all – she was energized by international travel. Along the way, she enjoyed summer trips to the beach, the beautiful New England fall foliage, theatre, and fine dining.

Besides her parents, Peggy was predeceased by her husband Jack and her sister Becky Toth.

She is survived by her two sons, Parker & Andrea Lewis of Novi, Michigan, Tim & Sarah Lewis of Merrimack, New Hampshire. She is also survived by her four grandchildren Jack, Owen, Tyler, and Chase. As well as her sister Nancy Michel of Wilmington, NC and her nieces and nephew Laurie Tucker, Lynne Blackburn, Kaitlyn Moon, and Brian St. Germain.
