Raymond “Ray” C. Lavallee

Jun 6, 2024

Raymond “Ray” C. Lavallee, 94, of Merrimack, New Hampshire passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 2, 2024. He was the loving husband of the late Dorothy “Dot” (Hall) Lavallee.

Born in West Warwick, Rhode Island, February 5, 1930, he was the son of the late Arthur O. and Regina (Bonin) Lavallee. Ray was a graduate of West Warwick High School and of Hesser College in Manchester NH.

Ray proudly served his country and was a 21-year Air Force veteran. Continuing with his passion for serving his country, Ray also worked at Ford Aerospace for a number of years where he continued to support US interests abroad.

Ray was a lifelong sports enthusiast, both as a spectator for Boston sports teams as well as an avid golfer himself. His passion for golf led him to win several club championships and tournaments. While he received recognition and accolades for his golfing abilities, he often shared that he was most proud of having the opportunity to mentor his children and grandchildren in the game that brought him so much joy.

His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. Annual family trips to Aruba brought him a lifetime of memories that he often reminisced upon. He also organized golf trips to Scotland and Ireland with golf buddies particularly his dearest friend of many years Ed Kirby.

He is survived by a son, Raymond Lavallee of Hudson NH; two daughters, Carol Lavallee and Debra and her husband Gary Gagnon, both of Merrimack, NH; 5 grandchildren and a sister, Roberta Ellis of Sandwich, MA

The family wishes to express its heartfelt appreciation to the exceptional staff at Community Hospice House in Merrimack who provided Ray and his family with exceptional comfort and care.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 16 Baboosic Lake Road, Merrimack on Tuesday, June 11th, 2024 at 9:30 AM. A private graveside service for Ray and Dot will be held at the NH Veteran’s Cemetery in Boscawen at the convenience of the family.
