Helen Blanche (Secor) Tognetti

Helen Blanche (Secor) Tognetti, 91, died Saturday, May 25, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Helen was born on January 9, 1933, in New Scotland, New York, to James and Jeannette (Jones) Secor. She was a resident of Merrimack, New Hampshire and previously lived in Monrovia, Maryland.
She met her husband, Ronald in Wiesbaden, Germany, whom she married on November 23, 1965, in Basel, Switzerland. Helen and Ron returned to the United States in 1969 with two kids in tow.
Helen was a teacher who taught for over 40 years first in upstate New York and then for the USAF in England and Germany. She retired from Frederick County Public Schools after over 20 years as a mathematics and computer science teacher. During her time at FCPS, Helen helped open New Market Middle School and later won a grant to introduce the first Apple computers into the school system. She educated thousands of students and received numerous awards for her contributions and achievements.
Helen attended Bethlehem Central High School and earned a Master’s degree from the New York State College for Teachers at Albany. Helen was a lifelong learner who always had a positive outlook. She enjoyed reading, bird watching, genealogy and gardening. Helen and Ron liked to take day-trips in New Hampshire and often ended up in Peterborough. She frequently volunteered in the community and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She was predeceased by three sisters, Irma Hoose, Florence Mckie and Thelma Cummins.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Michael Super of Merrimack, NH; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald Mark and Stephanie Tognetti of Frederick, MD; four grandchildren, Benjamin and Katherine Super, both of Merrimack, and Jake and Nicole Tognetti, both of Frederick; a brother and sister-in-law, Bruce Secor and his wife Michelle of Amherst, NY a sister-in-law, Carolyn Tognetti of San Francisco, Calif.; five nephews; and eight nieces.
SERVICES: Visitation will be held Saturday, June 8th, at 1 pm, immediately followed by a Celebration of Life at 2 pm. The DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, One Lock St., Nashua has been placed in charge of arrangements. An additional Celebration of Life will be held in Maryland later this year.
