Roland J. Diggins

Roland J. Diggins, 84, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on May 26,2024 after a lengthy illness.

Roland was born on April 1,1940, one of ten children born to the late Albert and Delima (Levesque) Diggins. Born and raised in Nashua, Roland was a proud lifelong resident of the Granite State. He was known for his strong work ethic, great sense of humor and dedication to his family. He attended Nashua schools, proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and was a life member of the Nashua Elks. He retired as Supervisor of Buildings Grounds with the Nashua School District after 20 years of dedicated service.

He was a devoted husband to Bernice N. (Rioux) Diggins for 64 years, and a loving father to his four daughters Laurie L. Diggins and her partner Terrance Geenarain; Paula D. Perlowski and her husband John, Doreen M. Charron and her husband Steve, Sandra Schoen and her husband Chris. He leaves behind eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Roland is also survived by two sisters, Gloria Savage of Goffstown NH and Patricia Rodgers and her husband Kenneth of Stuart, FL; one brother, Roger Diggins and his wife Treva, brother-in-law Wilfred (Doris Dupont) all of Nashua NH, sister-in-law Ellen (Richard Diggins) of Bedford NH. Along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, Roland leaves behind a close extended family of in-laws with whom he shared a bond as close as siblings.

In addition to his parents, Roland was predeceased by two sisters, Lucille G. Clark, Doris Dupont; and four brothers, Albert Diggins, Jr., Daniel Diggins, Thomas Diggins and Richard P. Diggins.

Roland will be deeply missed by his loving family, friends and all who knew him.
