Kenneth Joseph Walsh

Kenneth Joseph Walsh passed away peacefully on May 5, 2024 at the age of 80 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was a parishioner at Parish of the Resurrection in Nashua, NH for 50 years before moving to Roswell, GA in 2020 to be near family as his illness progressed.

Ken grew up in Providence, RI where he attended Mount Pleasant High School and graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston with an Associates degree in Electrical Engineering. He served in the US Army in Vietnam as a radar specialist, working on the OV-1 Mohawk airplane in the First Infantry Division. He later continued his education at UMass Lowell and earned his Bachelors degree in Engineering with a specialty in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Systems. Ken loved his work as an engineer and had a passion for cars, airplanes and machines. In addition to his profession as an engineer he was also an Adjunct Professor in the Engineering Department at Northeastern University for 15 years. In his semi-retirement Ken also taught HVAC Systems and Engineering courses at Nashua High South and led the Robotics Team. He was involved in a number of community service projects with the Knights of Columbus as a Knight of the Fourth Degree. He will be missed for his upbeat personality, loving demeanor, family values and the ability to make everyone laugh.

Ken is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Carol Walsh, his children Heather Griffin, Ken Walsh, Jr and Eric Walsh, his son-in-law Matthew Griffin, daughters-in-law Kara Walsh and Koranda Walsh, and his nine grandchildren. He will also be missed by his extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 24, 2024 at Parish of the Resurrection in Nashua, NH at 11am with a reception to follow. Rosary and visitation will be at 10am. He will be interred at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH the following day.
