Leo George LeBel, Jr.

Leo George LeBel, Jr., died peacefully on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at Fairview Nursing Home in Hudson surrounded by his loving family. He is the beloved husband of Ellen (Hegarty) LeBel with whom he shared 60 years of marriage.

Leo was born in Nashua, New Hampshire on December 8, 1940 and was the son of the late Leo G. Sr. and Sophie (St. Jacques) LeBel. He received his education in the Nashua School System and was a graduate of Nashua High School with the class of 1959.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard from 1960 until 1966 during the Vietnam War until he was honorably discharged.

Following his service, he attended classes at Nashua Business College in 1964. For 44 years, he was employed as an office manager at Law Motor/Freight/Law Warehouse until his retirement. Following his retirement, he worked as a court officer for Nashua Superior Court from 2002 until 2022.

Leo was a member of the Nashua Lodge of Elks as honorary life member 47 years, during which he served as Past Exalted Ruler, Past District Deputy, Past State President and Past Grand Lodge Committee Man. He was also a member of the American Legion New Hampshire Post 0002. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time tending to his lawn, ensuring that it was meticulously manicured. He loved camping especially at Old Orchard Beach, Maine and spent many hours devoted to volunteering for community service for various organizations. Above all, his most cherished time was spent with his family.

In addition to his wife, Ellen, he is survived by his three children, Christine LeBel Gannon and her husband Stephen, Timothy LeBel and his wife Nancy and Jason LeBel and his wife Deborah LeBel; his grandchildren, Ronald Nenni, Matthew Nenni, Zachary Gannon, Devin LeBel, Bryce LeBel, Kailee LeBel, and Brady LeBel; as well as his great-grandchild, Isabella Nenni. He is also survived by his niece, and many nephews, cousins and dear friends.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Lucy LeBel Peterson and Leonard LeBel.

Relatives and friends are invited to Leo’s Funeral Mass on THURSDAY, May 30th at 10 AM in St. Kathryn Catholic Church, 4 Dracut Road, Hudson, NH. KINDLY MEET AT CHURCH. His interment and presentation of military honors will take place at a later date in the New Hampshire State Veteran Cemetery, Boscawen.
