Gennaro “Jerry” B. Fondini

Gennaro “Jerry” B. Fondini, 85, died peacefully on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at the Bedford Hills Rehab surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Arlene (Anderson) Fondini with whom he shared 60 years of marriage prior to her passing on March 31, 2021.

Jerry was born in Medford, Massachusetts on April 13, 1939 and was the son of the late Bruno and Theresa (Ziccardo) Fondini. He received his education in the Medford School System and graduated from Medford Trade Vocational High School. He continued his education and graduated with his associate degree in business management while working at the MBTA.

He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force AMN 1st Class until he was honorably discharged in January of 1958.

Following his discharge, He worked as a glazier for few years before he was employed at the MBTA in 1968 and worked there for 36 years until his retirement. Following his retirement, he worked at the Stop and Shop in Bedford, Massachusetts.

Jerry had an amazing sense of humor and will be remembered for his dedication to his family. He truly cherished and treasured everything Christmas. In his free time, he enjoyed listening to his 45-rpm record collection spanning from four decades worth of music; hosting fabulous cookouts with his accompanying pyrotechnics; and loved movies from all genres but especially the Golden Years of Hollywood and “Spaghetti Westerns.” Above all, his most cherished time was spent with his family who he loved deeply.

He is survived by his two children, Lisamarie Proctor and her husband Roy and Peter Fondini and his wife JoAnne; his six grandchildren, Amanda Reep and her husband James, Erica Fondini, Megan Proctor and her significant other David Sullivan, Michaela Murphy and her husband Daniel, Joshua Fondini and Shayna Fondini. He is also survived by his four great-grandchildren, Jordan Woods, Lanceton Sullivan, Lainey Murphy, and Lyla Murphy; as well as his brother Leonard Fondini; and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

In addition to his wife, Arlene and his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Janet Fondini.

Jerry’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffing at Langdon Place in Nashua and Bedford Hills Rebab Center in Bedford for their care and compassion shown to Jerry and his family during his time spent with them.

Relatives and friends are invited to Jerry’s visitation on FRIDAY, May 17th from 5 until 8 PM at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. His Funeral Mass will be held on SATURDAY, May 18th at 10 AM in Immaculate Conception Church, 316 E. Dunstable Road, Nashua. Interment to follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Nashua.
