Denise E. Lockwood

Denise E. Lockwood, 72 of Fairfield, PA passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024 at The Gettysburg Hospital. Born March 17, 1952 in Nashua, NH she was the daughter of Lorraine G. (Dion) Vaillancourt of Nashua, NH and the late Rosaire A. Vaillancourt. Denise was predeceased by her husband, Charles J. Lockwood, Jr. who died in 2008. She graduated from Rivier University in Nashua and served as a medical tech for Quest Diagnostics in Baltimore, MD for 20 years. Denise was an active member of the Lower Marsh Creek Presbyterian Church in Gettysburg and was a member of the church’s hand bell choir. Her passion was traveling and traveling she did, to all parts of the world. Denise also enjoyed photography, which she used on her various trips to document the sights she had seen. In addition to her mother, she is survived by two sisters, Rita M. Tedder (Peter) of Mont Vernon, NH and Mary A. Girouard of Nashua, two step-children, Barbara Jean Rouck and Barry L. Lockwood, four step-grandsons, Joshua Compton, Dylan, Brian and Brandon Lockwood, 2 step-great grandchildren, McCain Compton and Harrison Lockwood, two nephews, Tyler Girouard(Lauren) and Kyle Girouard, two great nieces, Madilyn and Rosalie, her best friend and family member, Kim Adams and many cousins and close friends.

A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Denise will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 10, 2024 at the Lower Marsh Creek Presbyterian Church, 1865 Knoxlyn Road, Gettysburg, PA with Rev. Dr. Mark Englund-Krieger, officiating. Interment will follow the service in Lower Marsh Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 9, from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Monahan Funeral Home in Fairfield, PA.
