DELORES ELIZABETH GENDRON (1931-2024)
Delores Elizabeth (Fernando Bello) Gendron,92, of Nashua, NH, passed away peacefully from natural causes on April 29, 2024.
Delores was born on August 5, 1931, to Manuel and Benvinda Bello, in Lowell, MA. Her parents immigrated to the United States from Madeira Island, Portugal. She lived her childhood years surrounded by extended family in the Prince Spaghettiville area of Lowell, and moved to Nashua in her early teens. Delores attended Nashua High School and graduated in the class of 1949.
Delores worked night shift during most of her working years and could be relied upon to work extra shifts and overtime whenever needed. She spent her early adult years working in the former mill buildings in Nashua, manufacturing children’s toys in the plastics factories. Later, she hired on into Nashua Corporation, retiring from full-time work after approximately 25 years of service. Thereafter, she worked part-time at the Nashua Police Department for another 12 years. After retirement, she was content to spend most of her time at home, caring for several grandchildren. She was nicknamed Gram, Grammy, and Vovo, had a heart of gold, and was quick to provide advice or share the family history of her upbringing.
Delores was preceded in death by her husband Roland Gendron, Sr. and siblings Manuel, Jr. and Daniel Bello of Lowell, MA, Joseph “Mickey” Bello of Nashua, and Mary (Mimi) Bello Little of Albuquerque, NM.
